Team EnVyUs is a North American based eSports organization. Established in 2007, they are one of the most storied eSports organizations in the world. Aside from SMITE, the team also has divisions for Call of Duty, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft 2, Gears of War, Halo, and Overwatch. For information about their Call of Duty team, see their page on CoD Esportspedia. For information about their Halo team, see their page on Halo Esportspedia.

History

Season 2

The organization took it's first step into competitive SMITE, when they acquired the roster of AFK Gaming on October 5, 2015.[1] At the time of the signing, the team was considered to be the best in North America, with a record of 18-2 through seven weeks of the SPL Fall Split. This near-flawless record would tarnish over the remaining weeks of the Pro League, falling to 20-8. Securing 1st seed, they qualified for the NA Super Regionals. Receiving a bye through the quarterfinals, EnVyUs faced the surprise victor over TSM, Enemy. Despite a surprise role swap by Incon and KikiSoCheeky as well as an incredible Mercury performance by Weak3n, Enemy upset EnVy as well, defeating them 3-2. EnVy would also lose to Eager in the 3rd place match, resulting in a fourth place finish and rejecting them from the 2016 SMITE World Championship.

Just weeks later, the team decided that they would play in the Xbox One Invitational open bracket. However, Incon expressed no interest in playing on Xbox, and the team went through a number of positions changes, as Allied moved to mid, CycloneSpin to ADC and brought in 0mega, who had recently left Eager after not qualifying for Worlds, for the solo lane. The new Team EnVyUs was revitalized, as they went completely undefeated through the Invitational, making them the Xbox One Invitational champions.

Season 3

Spring Split

The team went back to PC Smite for Season 3 soon after, changing their roster for the foreseeable future to their Xbox One roster, moving Incon to coach. Incon would leave just 1 day later.[2] In order to fill the vacant coach spot, the team brought on former Team SoloMid support, Eonic.[3]

However, what seemed to be an ironic twist of fate, the roster would have what could be seen as one of the swiftest falls from grace ever seen in the SPL. From first in the Season 2 Fall Split to 7th in the Season 3 Spring Split. One of those games included what many consider to be the worst game in SPL history, where the current roster with sub Dust, replacing 0mega due to internet issues, tired to initiate a "troll strat" and surrendered 2 minutes in when it didn't succeed.

With this in mind, the team took 7th in the Spring Split and had to go through Relegations. Surprisingly enough, the roster with temporary ADC Wowy was able to take down both Risky Behavior and Most Wanted eSports with ease. Though this didn't shake any bad taste that the roster had around them going into the next split.

Fall Season

The Fall Placement and Fall Season didn't fair any better for the roster. Even with the up and coming ADC Oceans, the the team barely took 6th place, only because Enemy had a surprise fall off, letting them avoid what many though was the Group of Death. But even in the Fall Season, the roster was dismantled by SoaR Gaming and Denial eSports, having them last in their group and 7th in the season overall.

Fall Gauntlet and Org Departure

Even before the Fall Gauntlet, the team was caught off guard when Oceans, Cyclonespin, and PolarBearMike were asked to join Team Allegiance. The team captin at the time, KikiSoCheeky, allowed the team to go with challenger player Tmoney313, formerly retired player Cabom, and Season 2 Challenger player NeiruMah. The roster had a close 2-1 set against the new and improved Most Wanted eSports team, a team that some believed could have made it to the final boss. However, the roster's hopes were quickly dashed by Enemy in a 0-2 lost.

While saddening, but not surprising, the Organization announced on November 30, 2016, that the team that played in the gauntlet has been released and the org would be withdrawing from SMITE. Many believe that the org will never return to the SPL.
