Overview

The "2020 SMITE Pro League" is the seventh year of the SMITE professional league. Eight franchised teams will will participate in the online league, with all games originally planned to be played at Hi-Rez Studios in Alpharetta, Georgia, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic all games are played online. Teams will work to qualify towards the SMITE World Championship 2021.

Format

  • Pre-Season:
    • 8 franchised teams acquire spots in the SPL
    • Players from any region are eligible to play in the SPL
    • All teams are required to have a coach/sub as a sixth player on their roster
    • Free Agency period will run from Nov 19 to Dec 16
    • Organizations have till Dec 23 to file visa paperwork
  • Regular Season:
    • Games will be broadcast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
    • All games will be broadcast on Twitch, Mixer, and Youtube
    • Season will be split into 2 phases
      • each phase will culminate in a playoff featuring the top 6 teams from that phase
      • each phase will have 14 weeks of play
      • Phase 1 will be Double Round Robin, Phase 2 will be Triple Round Robin
    • All sets will be Best of Three
  • Playoffs:
    • Single Elimination Bracket
    • All matches are Best of Five
    • Top 2 seeds receive bye to semifinals
    • Playoff position will determine points distribution for teams
  • SPL Points System
    • Phase 1 Points: [Show]

    • Qualification towards SMITE World Championship 2021 will be determined by this system
