Paul "Paul" Berger is the mid laner for Styx Ferrymen.

Biography

Paul lives in Cambridge, Ontario.

Paul first started playing Smite in 2012 during Closed Beta, but stopped playing because his computer wasn't good enough to run the game. Paul did not start playing competitively until late 2015 when his friend Warmachine bought him an XBOX. During the early days on XBOX he went by "Crey the outlaw" and primarily played the Hunter role. In October of 2015 under Release Gaming, his team got 5-8 place during the MLG World Finals held in New Orleans, LA which allowed qualification into MLG Pro League. This is the only LAN on XBOX that Paul played the Mid role. Release Gaming would end up 1st place in the MLG Pro League and advanced to MLG Pro League Championship in Columbus, Ohio in December. Shortly after, COGnitive Gaming XBOX picked up the roster and Paul changed his IGN to "Paul". Placing 2nd, COGnitive Gaming XBOX qualified to SMITE World Championship 2016 Xbox One Invitational held during January 7–10, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia. Falling short of 1st place, Paul and his team would lose to Team EnVyUs in the finals but would continue to play XBOX during the 2016 Season. Following Season 3 NA SCL Summer Qualifiers the COG Gaming XBOX roster would be picked up by Team eLevate XBOX in May. Season 3 NA SCL Summer Season would have Paul and his team finishing 4th. In June, Paul would go under the moniker "Paul from PC" and switch to Mid lane to accomodate roster changes. Paul would eventually leave and ended up playing briefly under Kingdom eSports for 1 week in September. This concludes Paul's XBOX career before switching to PC.

In 2018 after a long hiatus, Paul was contacted by player molluskk to form a PC Minor League team under Anxiety Onset. This team would go on to place 1st in the 2018 SMITE Minor League Spring Season and 1st in the Spring Finals in April. In May, Paul was picked up by Pro League team Trifecta and whose roster would make up SK Gaming the following year. Trifecta would qualify to the SMITE World Championship 2019 during Season 5 (2018). Trifecta, although a strong team, was defeated in the semi-finals. During Season 6 Smite Pro League, SK Gaming picked up the roster. After a difficult Phase 1 and Phase 2 and not automatically qualifying to SWC 2020, SK Gaming placed 1st in the SWC 2020 Placements.

SMITE World Championship 2020 saw SK Gaming win 1st place to the shock of many, given that they were an underdog team. SK Gaming knocked out Splyce in the quarter finals and after a grueling semi-finals against Renegades they were expected to be defeated by the favored Team RivaL. A 3-1 win to SK Gaming was considered a Cinderella Story to many.

After the SK Gaming corporation was disbanded following World's, Pittsburg Knights Gaming picked up the roster minus a roster swap from sam4soccer2 to QvoFred in the Jungle role. PK had a rough regular season, but would win the play-from-home Smite World Championship 2021.

Trivia
