Founded in 2013, Denial eSports is an American gaming organization. It is home to teams in SMITE, Call of Duty, Halo, DOTA as well as CS:GO. Robby "ringokid" Ringnalda is the company's CEO. Denial was one of the first organizations active in the SMITE scene of 2013. They left the scene to focus on their other teams in 2016.
History
Pre Launch
In 2013, Denial housed both a North American and and a European lineup. The bulk of the EU lineup around QvoFred would eventually get picked up by Team SoloMid while the American team slowly disbanded in the months following the SMITE Launch Tournament.
Season 2
Spring Split
In February 2015 during the SPL Season 2 NA Spring Qualifiers, Denial eSports returned to its SMITE roots with the signing of the American Five Angry Men roster around the team captain Macetodaface.[1] After finishing 4th in the Spring Split, solo laner TheBest and hunter madmanmarc22 decided to step down from their positions. This led to the acquisition of Baskinrobin and BronxBombers to fill their roles.
Summer Split
Denial remained in the pro league during the SPL Season 2 NA Summer, placing fourth overall after a tiebreaker with Team Eager.
After SPL Season 2 NA Summer, Rushed announced roster changes including Baskinrobin leaving for personal reasons, and BronxBombers being confirmed as the starting hunter over Madmanmarc22 who had been subbed in towards the end of the season.[2]
Fall Split
On August 16, 2015, Rushed confirmed the rumors that Whalrus had joined the team as its new solo laner.[3] After finishing seventh in the Fall Split, the entire roster except Whalrus joined XGN to play in the competitive Xbox scene, replacing the existing roster in its entirety after a several-day-long dispute, bringing Enemy's coach draylo to fill in for Whalrus. This lineup remained until the MLG Pro League Championship, where they would compete in the SWC 2016 Xbox One Invitational with PolarBearMike replacing draylo due to roster technical issues. They were eventually defeated by Team Orbit in the Open Bracket stage, resulting in a sixth-seventh place finish.
Following the SWC, draylo and the rest of XGN parted ways, with draylo returning to Enemy and the remainder of XGN returning to Denial. On January 25, Homiefe left Denial to join Problem Solved and five days later, Denial acquired Adjust, Enemy's former jungler. However, Enemy eSports had suffered a breakdown, and many members would join Denial as a result. Vetium would take BronxBombers's place, Benj1 would take Whalrus's, draylo would become the new coach, and most interesting of all, Masked would replace Adjust, who left the team instantly, marking the second time Masked had replaced him on different teams.
The roster changes would continue with Macetodaface announcing he put his commitments to SMITE on hold as he transitioned into the substitute role, and Masked leaving for Team EnVyUs. Macetodaface would be filled in by Xenotronics and Masked by Skeeledon.
